“Valentine’s Day” sparks and smothers love
Much like movies such as “He’s Just Not That Into You” and “Love Actually,” the upcoming flick “Valentine’s Day” is about to reign February. With an ensemble of ‘A-Listers’ like Jennifer Garner, Anne Hathaway, Patrick Dempsey, and Jessica Biel in the film, “Valentine’s Day” is a story about intertwining people in “different stages of love” in Los Angeles. Revolving around the actual commercial holiday, these couples break-up and make-up due to situational pressures brought upon by unnecessary expectations of Valentine’s Day.
We interviewed Carter Jenkins who stars opposite actress Emma Roberts as Alex O’Bannon, and was also excited to be a part of the “incredible team of actors and filmmakers.” Being among performers whom the average person knows quite well, Jenkins had to “pinch [himself] every day of filming” with such a surreal opportunity.
Jenkins’ story line is with Roberts (Unfabulous, Hotel for Dogs). They act as “girlfriend and boyfriend who are ready to take their relationship to the next level.” Both characters go through “funny obstacles” during Valentine’s Day when they end up losing their “v-cards.” Others undergo their romantic anticipation in a game of win or lose.
Valentine’s Day, in Jenkin’s thought, is a “day you either love or hate.” Though it generally targets couples, the day could be celebrated among friends and family. Nevertheless, love is an emotion that can be felt for and in anyone.
18-year-old Jenkins came to Los Angeles from Florida in which is where he began his career. Jenkins has been in various films and television shows since 2003 when he first booked the show, “Without a Trace.” He is best known for the recent “Aliens in the Attics,” in which this teen-throb stars opposite actress Ashley Tisdale.
So whether girls and boys enjoy watching their favorite celebrities in one motion picture or planning an escape from reality on the 14th, many will enjoy this much anticipated movie. It’s the “ultimate romantic comedy.”
Releases on February 12, 2010.
