At 20-years-old, Kate Belle is driven by the alluring and incandescent beauty of Hollywood. She’s a California native with a twin sister and four brothers and now stars in the new Disney XD show called, “I’m in the Band” as “Lana, a posh princess.”
Belle is best known for landing the role of “Carole” in CW’s, “Everybody Hates Chris.” With over ten years of acting experience, Belle’s career began to move forward in the same year and she later booked the much anticipated Disney XD pilot alongside actor Logan Miller.
The show centers around a high school student and aspiring rock star, Tripp Campbell (Logan Miller), who wins a contest to meet his favorite band, “Iron Weasel.” Possessing guitar skills that impress the band, he joins the group, in turn, allowing the middle aged members a place to stay. Tripp Campbell becomes the youth in charge that gathers gigs and brings back the sensation of the band that was long gone. Belle portrays Tripp Campbell’s girlfriend who is described as “materialistic or not the brightest light in the room.”
Despite depicting a possessive teenager, Belle is utterly sincere and precocious. “I started acting when I was still in diapers.” Belle and her identical twin sister were starring in numerous commercials but took a break to enjoy their childhood. They both “continued doing acting classes, plays, and musicals” while savoring their elementary years. By 16, Belle started to drive which enabled her to get herself to auditions and she has been “working [steadily] ever since.”
Belle’s identical sister, Kara, is not in the show which disappoints Belle when “she is not there with [her] to make [her] laugh.” In this perplexing industry, siblings compete as though it is war. However, the Belle sisters are nothing of the sort as they always remember to “support” each other since both are “so proud…no matter what happens in this business.”
Not only do people dread the entertainment industry for their development of egotistic actors, “constant rejection and endless auditions…callbacks” become a pain to endure as well. “You can’t let [it] get you down or get you disgruntled. You must stay positive and keep looking forward with your head up in order to stay on track.” The entertainment enterprise isn’t inundated with terrible niches at all hours, Belle thinks it empowers people to explore aspects of themselves they have never known before and has already allowed her to “explore and play characters that are so different,” but ultimately “finding the [similarities] and parallels at the end.” Acting “has made [her] more sympathetic and less judgmental of everybody.”
A model at heart, Belle is obsessed with modern fashion. “I especially love Forever 21 and H&M. My character Lana has the best wardrobe and great style, so I would love to raid her closet!” As Belle faces the upcoming year, she wishes to work with actors such as “Kate Winslet, Reese Witherspoon and Daniel Day-Lewis. “
With the New Year, Belle has already planned ahead with a resolution that delineates who she wishes to become. “I am [going] to start volunteering more. I would like to volunteer at least once a month.” The nation and the world faces many issues that never seem to end, but Belle wants people to also focus on “homeless youth and children who are victims of poverty.“ Fame cannot bring Belle to forget what a necessity versus the accessory is. To also focus on youth in trouble, support UNICEF, a charity that provides the essentials to children in third-world-countries and even Feeding America, a leading organization that supplies food to families across America.
You can watch Belle in “I’m in the Band” starting January, 2010 on Disney XD.
